CHOUPANA HILLS is a luxurious Resort & Spa nestled on the verdant hillside of Funchal.  The development of this project has been inspired by the French architect Michel de Camaret co-jointly with architect-decorator Didier Lefort who designed and decorated the famous Meridien Bora Bora and The Datai in Malaysia.  The main features of the building are wood and stone, comprised of 31 bungalow-style units, built on pillars.  Same African and Asian influences can be noticed in the unique decoration style of this boutique hotel as well as in other antiques pieces sourced from various Portuguese discoveries.  The 60 Deluxe rooms and 4 suites have spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean and the bay of Funchal and are surrounded by lush tropical gardens.  In the two main buildings you will find facilities such as the reception, restaurant, bars, spa, lounge, library and conference facilities.

guest roomThe spacious guest rooms, Deluxe rooms of 40 m² and suites of 50 m², are decorated in a contemporary style with an exotic touch.  All rooms have large verandas - 27 m² for double rooms and 31 m² for the suites - bathroom with separate toilet, hairdryer, minibar, personal safe, TV with radio and Internet access.  The suites are also equipped with a heaterd outdoor Jacuzzi, DVD and Hi-Fi-system.

The Xopana Restaurant offers its guest exciting, exotic and innovative "fusion" cuisine.
In the Basalt Bar, cocktails, drinks and snacks are served through out the course of the day.
While enjoying your day at the pool or in the spa, you can exprerience and isotonic drink in our Pool Bar.
"High afternoon tea" is a must and is served in the Lounge.

CHOUPANA HILLS is very proud of its Health and Beauty Spa, which exceeds even the most demanding expectations.  Treatments for both the spirit and the body are offered in a serene and relaxed atmosphere.
Aromatherapy, Rasul (exfolliation), algae wrap treatments, hydro massage, relaxing and revitalising baths, authentic Turkish Steam bath and sauna.  A perfect fusion of rigour and imagination.
There are two heated swimming pools, one outdoor lagoon swimming pool and an indoor pool with counter jet streams.

bungalowThe conference room (60 m²) with a capacity for approximately 40 people in a school type set-up is located in the main building.

A Courtesy bus is available to and from the centre of Funchal, serveral times per day.
