Locanda di Palazzo Cicala has all the magic of a "hotel de charme". It occupies the first floor of the historic and newly renovated Palazzo Cicala.. There are the remains of a medieval loggia on the façade overlooking Piazza Duomo, while the eighteenth-century main building front features magnificent stucco decorations. The hotel building has recently undergone a complete restoration in the original style. The interiors, on the other hand, have been refurbished according to the precepts of contemporary design, with minimalist lines and sober colours creating an elegance that is offset by a few carefully chosen period pieces. The large, airy rooms, with high arched ceilings embellished with stucco work and decorations, evoke the magic of the past while offering every modern convenience. The rooms give onto a spacious lounge overlooking Piazza San Lorenzo, where guests can sip an aperitif while enjoying a delightful view of the Duomo.

The marvellously quiet rooms, overlooking the picturesque Piazza Scuola Pie, are all on the first floor of the palazzo; they have high arched ceilings with rich stucco work and decorations, and range from 30 to 40 square metres in size; all with en suite bathrooms.

There are a total of six rooms, of which three with double bed, and three with two three-quarter beds; the latter are large enough to easily accommodate up to four people.

The interiors, inspired by the canons of contemporary design, use minimalist lines and sober colours to create an understated elegance that is offset by a few carefully chosen period pieces.

In these rooms of rare artistic and architectural beauty, in addition to all the standard amenities you will find a full suite of technological services: telephone, fax, personal computer, internet connection, satellite TV and DVD films.

Locanda di Palazzo Cicala is part of a tourist hospitality network that also includes two restaurants and a bar adjoining the hotel.

Le cantine Squarciafico 
The restaurant is situated right below the hotel; it comprises two large, elegant rooms with arched ceilings, slate and marble floors and a double row of ancient columns topped by late gothic capitals. The food is inspired by the regional tradition, revisited according to dictates of Italian high cuisine, and based on carefully selected ingredients of excellent quality. The specialities are: fresh home-made pasta (mandilli with pesto), savoury pies, fish (stockfish, "cappon magro" – a fish and vegetable salad) and its famous chocolate cake.

Mentelocale restaurant 
This recently opened restaurant is situated inside the sixteenth-century Palazzo Ducale. With a refined and rigorous design, it offers an innovative cuisine based on fish and vegetables. The secret, of course, lies in the use of fresh, top-quality ingredients and light, natural cooking methods.

Mentelocale cafè 
For aperitifs and after dinner drinks there is also the mentelocale cafè, situated in the charming entrance hall of Palazzo Ducale; it serves excellent breakfasts with croissants and focaccia, and light lunches of filled rolls, sandwiches or a variety of dishes accompanied by all types of drinks, with fruit salad or custard for dessert. Its central location, the comfortable yet elegant atmosphere, the background music and the informal service make mentelocale cafè an ideal venue for breakfast, a light meal, aperitif or after-theatre snack.
